About University of Law (Southampton)
The University of Law (ULaw) Southampton is a partnership campus based in the University of Southampton's Law School on the Highfield Campus in north Southampton. ULaw announced the exclusive partnership in July 2022 and began teaching there in September 2022, first with the Legal Practice Course and the LLM in Legal Practice; it described the arrangement as its eighth partnership with a UK university. Today the campus focuses on postgraduate routes into the legal profession: the Postgraduate Diploma in Law (PGDL) conversion course, taken full time with a September start only, and the LLM Legal Practice (SQE1 and SQE2), which prepares graduates for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination. There are no ULaw undergraduate degrees at Southampton. Students use the host university's facilities, including the Hartley Library with its Law Collection and Ford Collection of Parliamentary Papers, computer suites and the Students' Union (SUSU). ULaw itself was formed in 1962 as the College of Law, became the first for-profit UK institution with university title in 2012 and has been owned by Global University Systems since 2015. Southampton is a maritime city on the south coast, the closest city to the New Forest National Park and a 2025 UK City of Culture shortlistee.

ULaw is not listed in QS, THE, Guardian or Complete University Guide tables; it was 10th in the UK for teaching in the National Student Survey 2024 and holds a TEF 2023 Silver award.
