About University of Crete
The University of Crete is a public university established in 1973 that admitted its first students in 1977-78. It has 16 departments in five schools: Philosophy, Education, Social Sciences, Sciences and Engineering, and Medicine. Its campuses are at Voutes in Heraklion and Gallos in Rethymno. The university works closely with the Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas (FORTH) and runs an English-taught International Program in Medicine and many English-taught master's programmes.
