About SOAS University of London
SOAS University of London was founded in 1916 as a college of the University of London and became the School of Oriental and African Studies in 1938. It is a specialist university for the study of Asia, Africa and the Middle East, with strengths in development, politics, law, anthropology, languages and economics. Its Russell Square campus is in Bloomsbury, central London, and its library holds over 1.3 million items in more than 400 languages.
