About Peking University
Peking University (PKU) was founded in 1898 as the Imperial University of Peking, China's first modern national university. It is a public research university under the Ministry of Education and part of Project 985, Project 211 and the Double First-Class initiative, and a member of the C9 League. PKU is strong across the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, medicine and engineering. Its main campus, the former Yanyuan garden, is at 5 Yiheyuan Road in Haidian, Beijing.
