About L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University
L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (ENU) was founded in 1996 by merging the Akmola Civil Engineering Institute and the Akmola Pedagogical Institute, absorbed the Academy of Diplomacy in 2000 and gained national university status in 2001. It is the largest higher education institution in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, and is named after the historian Lev Gumilyov. It has 13 faculties and 28 research institutes and centres covering natural sciences, engineering, IT, humanities, international relations and economics. Foreign citizens are admitted on a fee-paying basis after an interview. Kazakhstan has no post-study work visa; graduates who want to stay need an employer-sponsored work permit.

ENU admits foreign citizens to a September intake on a fee-paying basis after an online interview. Documents are accepted from 1 to 31 March and from 15 June to 25 July, with interviews in April and July and enrolment before 28 August. Exact KZT fees are in ENU's 2026-27 price lists.
