About Kazakh-British Technical University
Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU) was established in Almaty in 2001 by government decree, following a 2000 UK-Kazakhstan memorandum on education cooperation. It is based at 59 Tole Bi Street and teaches all classes in English. Its nine schools cover IT and engineering, energy and oil and gas, geology, chemical engineering, materials science, applied mathematics, business and economics, plus the Kazakhstan Maritime Academy. Its Automation and Control, Information Systems and Computing and Software Engineering degrees are ABET-accredited, and the International School of Economics has been a University of London centre since 2005.
